Composite Decking FAQs

• What lengths of decking boards do you sell?

We sell 3 lengths of boards; 2.2m, 2.8m and 3.6m. 2.2m and 2.8m are only available in Winter Grey and Midnight Black.

• What colour boards do you sell?

We sell 5 different colours of deck boards; Winter Grey, Midnight Black, Autumn Brown, Cedar Brown and Natural Oak.

• Do the decking boards fade?

As with all outdoor products, composite decking will lighten up in colour as it undergoes an initial weathering process due to the sun’s UV rays. This will happen mostly in the first few months and slow down from then on.

• Can I cut composite deck boards?

Yes you can. We would recommend to use a circular saw or mitre saw with a high tooth count blade for straight cuts and a jigsaw with a fine toothed blade for cuts around posts or pipes.

• What spaces do I use for my joists?

Joist centres must be no more than 300mm to provide a strong and sturdy base, and also to ensure the warranty is not void.

Composite Fencing FAQs

• What size is the fencing?

Composite fencing comes in individual 150mm high boards which you stack on top of each other building your fence to the required height. The boards are 182cm long, 21mm thick and 150mm high. They are 1cm less than the “normal” 6ft wide to allow for expansion.

• What colour fencing do you sell?

We sell 5 different colours of fencing; Winter Grey, Midnight Black, Autumn Brown, Cedar Brown and Natural Oak.

• Does the fencing fade?

Similar to other outdoor elements, composite fencing experiences a gradual colour change during the initial weathering process. This lightening effect, primarily caused by sunlight's UV rays, occurs most noticeably in the first few months and then progresses at a much slower pace.

• Can composite fencing be fitted between concrete posts?

Yes! We have a specialist product for such a task, Reducing Inserts. The inserts sit in the groove of concrete posts and are tapered to hold composite fencing in place.

• Can I cut composite fencing?

Yes absolutely. We would recommend a chop saw or mitre saw (or similar) with a high tooth count blade. When cutting composite fencing yourself, allow an extra 10mm to be cut off to allow for expansion, eg gap for the fence is 1500mm, cut the boards down to 1490mm.

• How do I treat composite fencing?

You don’t, that’s the beauty of composite! It only requires a clean with warm soapy water and a soft bristled brush. A good wash, rinse and air dry should leave it looking as good as new!

answer

• Can I cut the cladding?

Yes. We would recommend a chop saw or mitre saw (or similar) with a high tooth count blade for a smooth, clean cut.

• Mix mild dish soap (avoid ammonia-based) with warm water in a bucket. • Rinse the cladding with a hose to remove loose dirt and debris. • Gently scrub the cladding with a soft-bristled brush and soapy water. • Rinse the entire surface thoroughly with clean water. • General Tips: 1) Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Never use abrasive cleaners, bleach, or any harsh chemicals that can damage the cladding's surface. 2) Power Washer: While safe for some cladding, be cautious with power washers.
